Göttingen
Quadruple outlook
This bronze plate in the street pavement exactly at the corner of Kornmarkt/Markt shows the location from which all four inner city churches can be seen. These are St. Johannis in the west, St. Jacobi in the north, St. Albani in the east and St. Michael in the south. In the row of buildings on the south side of the market square stood the oldest guild house in Göttingen from 1251, the "Schuhhof". Ulm
Nix champagne, koane Schicki-Mickis...
...and no kissy kissy - that's how we are!
That's what it says on the menu and that's how it is - simply rustic. In this winding inn, you enter Bavaria right at the door. And just before the border to Bavaria.
This calls for an Augustiner on tap - or if that's not enough, you can get a 20-liter keg to drink alone (or with friends) and plenty of Bavarian cosiness.
What about food? That's also available. Really tasty and hearty... and in huge portions.
And if you prefer to enjoy your beer, roast ox or spaetzle without the kids - no problem, they have their own regulars' table anyway.

While pigs, sheep, dogs and cats frolic in the garden of the beautiful brick villa, overnight guests enjoy the cozy flair of the hotel's own guesthouse.

The power of water
Originally, Mercury was to become the fountain's leading figure. However, thanks to the cholera epidemic, Hygieia, the Greek goddess of health, purity and hygiene, finally made the running. Depicted is the purifying power of water and the victory over the cholera epidemic by a defeated dragon at the feet of the goddess.

Chemnitz
Colorful landmark at night
With its bright colors, the imposing tower, affectionately known as the "Lulatsch", is a real eye-catcher and a popular photo spot. As soon as darkness falls, it shines in colorful light and conjures up a magical atmosphere. Its imposing height makes it a striking landmark that can be seen from many places in Chemnitz. Although it is a thermal power station, at night it is transformed into a fascinating work of art that captivates every visitor. It is therefore the perfect place for an evening stroll or a romantic date, and of course a sought-after photo spot for memories.

The Stadtbad is an outstanding example of modern spa architecture and is one of the most striking buildings in Chemnitz. An unforgettable experience of bathing in this unique building.

Erfurt
Between desert and jungle
Water plays a central role here: it is impressively shown how the lack or abundance of water affects the flora and fauna. While competition for the sun's rays rages in the warm, humid rainforest, the desert dwellers are thirsty for water.
Danakil is an experience for all the senses. Many connections between the two climate zones are shown by landscape scanners, soil sections with explanations or a specially developed app on the circular trail and the search for water.

Ulm
Today, as in the past, there's a lot of waffling on both sides.
Why does Ulm bear the name Zweilandstadt? Quite clearly because the Danube, which flows through the middle of the city, divides the town into two halves and at the same time represents the border between two federal states. Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. The border line is marked on the Herdbrücke bridge - so you can stand here with one foot in Bavaria and the other in Baden-Württemberg at the same time. Crazy, isn't it? But what is now just a symbolic border was not always the case:
In the early 1970s, criminals could not be easily pursued across the Danube because Baden-Württemberg police officers were not allowed to take their service weapons into Bavaria. Even crazier, isn't it?
