Chemnitz
Fragrance in one of its most beautiful variants
When people longing for coffee enter the coffee roastery Bohnenmeister in the Wirkbau, they are immediately and gently enveloped by the special aroma. Located directly under the imposing bell tower of the former warp knitting machine building, which has been repurposed in a variety of cultural and business-oriented ways, the glass coffee factory, which can already be described as venerable, offers everything a person's heart could possibly desire in terms of the inspiring, hot beverage. Raw beans of the "Coffea Arabica" variety are roasted and then offered for consumption.
It is also possible to purchase special coffees for different types of preparation and quite unusual coffee utensils. And it is like this: At some point, you have to leave this fragrant realm, but not without a small longing that arises from the pleasure of leaving.

Chemnitz
Time Travel through Saxon Industrial History
The Industrial Museum in Chemnitz is a fascinating place that presents the history of Saxon industry in an impressive way. A former foundry hall of the machine tool factory Hermann und Alfred Escher AG houses an extensive collection of historical exhibits that reflect the development of industrial history in Saxony from the beginning of industrialization to the present day.
Here you can marvel at machines and equipment that are still in working order and that once shaped the working world in Chemnitz. The former importance of Chemnitz as the 'Saxon Manchester' is also the subject of the exhibition. Particularly impressive are the steam engine, which is electrically operated for show purposes, the historic locomotive and the many textile machines, from the Crompton mule to the sewing automat. For technology enthusiasts, a visit to the Industrial Museum is a must. The exhibition is not only informative, but also extremely entertaining and allows visitors to immerse themselves in the past at first hand.
A visit to the Industrial Museum provides a lively insight into the industrial history of Saxony. However, a visit is not only recommended for technology and history enthusiasts, but for everyone who wants to embark on an exciting, interactive journey into the past.

Chemnitz
Next stop, streetcar museum.
Zwickauer Straße in Chemnitz is practically THE industrial route of the city: Here you can experience the history, present and future of industry as if strung together on a chain. The Chemnitz Tram Museum is a particularly authentic place and a must-see for all streetcar fans. The old track layout is reminiscent of the era of the Chemnitz narrow-gauge streetcar. In a carriage hall from 1908 you will find relics from a bygone era and, typical for the Chemnitz machismo, you can touch many things and try them out for yourself. Learn how a streetcar "works" and test for yourself how to operate a master controller or how to use a pay box.
For the annual summer festival at the streetcar museum, the historic streetcars are in operation and invite you to take a ride. The former streetcar depot is definitely a site worth coming back to several times, because a lot will develop here in the next few years. It is an intervention area of the Capital of Culture application and will be redesigned and developed into a European cultural campus by 2025.

Schubert & Salzer Tower
