Laatzen
An adventure for all the senses
Switch off from everyday life and switch to discoveries. Smelling, hearing, seeing, feeling and tasting: it's possible in the Park of the Senses. At 19 stations, you can explore the four elements of air, water, fire and earth and experience sensual diversity. The Park of the Senses was laid out for the world exhibition EXPO 2000 according to plans by the Hanoverian garden and landscape architect Hans-Joachim Adam on a former landfill in Laatzen. The 7-hectare site is modelled on a valley basin, which is divided into sub-rooms and crisscrossed by walking paths. A high wall densely covered with wild roses and other woody plants shields the park from the surroundings. Dry stone walls support the embankments. Tree phenomena, stone installations and art objects will amaze you.
