Der Landgrafenturm, ein fast 30 Meter hoher Aussichtsturm, bekannt als der "Balkon von Jena", ist ein beliebter Anlaufpunkt für Spaziergänger und Genießer. In der Umgebung gibt es den Trimm-dich-Pfad und das "Goethewäldchen" mit traumhaften Wanderwegen entlang der Sonnenberge, die ausreichend Möglichkeiten für Bewegung bieten. Nach einem aktiven Tag können Besucher auf der Sonnenterrasse und im Restaurant entspannen und die Aussicht genießen. Bei schönem Wetter lädt der Biergarten zum Verweilen ein.
Mit dem Auto ist der Landgrafenturm über den Philosophenweg/Dornbluthweg erreichbar. Vom Philosophenweg aus dauert der Aufstieg über den Landgrafenstieg etwa 30 Minuten.
