The squatting woman
The rock formation stretches for around four kilometers through the landscape and the sandstone towers can reach a height of 20 meters. However, one rock stands out from the cliffs due to its striking shape: the "squatting woman". The Dörenther Klippen were formed around 140 million years ago as sandbanks and deposits from a prehistoric sea.
Today, the Dörenther Klippen are a great excursion destination for active people and those seeking relaxation. Numerous hiking trails lead along the cliff formation and into the adjacent Teutoburg Forest. Here you can enjoy a unique view over the southern Münsterland region.
