Worlds of sound in the concert hall

The Bochum Symphony Orchestra stands for joy in playing, the highest musical standards, a love of experimentation and virtuosity. The orchestra has made a name for itself internationally with concert tours. Since October 2016, the Bochum Symphony Orchestra has been playing in the newly built Anneliese Brost Musikforum Ruhr, which has won several architectural awards. The 100th anniversary of the BoSy was also celebrated there in May 2019 with a major birthday concert. At the end of the 2020/2021 season, Steven Sloane handed over his position to Tung-Chieh Chuang after 27 years as General Music Director of the BoSy and most recently also Director of the Musikforum. While Steven Sloane will remain associated with the orchestra as honorary conductor, Tung-Chieh Chuang will set new tonal priorities and accents in addition to continuing many popular concert series.
