On the trail of historical criminal cases
The museum devotes particular attention to the Haarmann criminal case, who was a serial killer in Hanover in the 1920s. Facts and knowledge from the identification process, police photography and the work of the criminal investigation department are vividly conveyed to visitors of all ages.
Movement is and was particularly important in everyday police work. Visitors can gain an insight into the various means of transportation used by the police in Lower Saxony since the Second World War. Those who are particularly interested in the historical development of police work will find information on political and social changes and exhibits from the Middle Ages to the present day.
