Cacti and other succulents

Cacti and other succulents from the Berggarten's extensive collection are on display in the cactus showhouse as well as in the desert showhouses on the edge of the Schmuckhof. All of these plants have water-retaining tissues, allowing them to survive periods of drought in arid regions. The cacti originating from America, for example, bloom in May and June, while the flowering splendor of the African aloe can also be admired in winter.
