Freiburg im Breisgau
Schäufele and a Ganter, please.
Anyone strolling through Schusterstraße on a Saturday morning is almost magically "drawn" to the Deutsches Haus.
It's best not to resist, because the seats there fill up so quickly. No wonder, because the old Freiburg town house, which has been registered with the city since 1386, serves typical Freiburg beer (Ganter), Baden wines, Schäufele, sausage salad, Kässpätzle, Baden beef and Black Forest trout at rustic wooden tables. Down-to-earth cuisine. Great.

Maschsee jetty
Südstadt offers pure recreation, but you can still reach the city center in five minutes via Marienstraße and Hildesheimer Straße. What else? The Eisfabrik offers theater, art & culture and every Friday you can experience Hannover's largest weekly market at Stephansplatz.

Göttingen
Most kissed girls in the city
The Gänseliesel is a tribute to the goose girls who were part of the townscape at that time. Many of these girls were called Elisabeth, therefore the cose form "Liesel" became your job title.
For a long time it has been a firm tradition that the freshly graduated male and female doctors of the Georg-August-University pay a visit to the Gänseliesel. After the oral examination, equipped with a doctoral hat, they are driven to the market in a decorated handcart.
Here they have to climb the fountain and give the Gänseliesel a kiss. In return, she receives a bouquet of flowers as a thank you. This custom makes the Gänseliesel the most kissed girl in town - although she never kisses back.

Erfurt
A real feast for the eyes
The Krämerbrücke is undoubtedly a must-see for every visitor to this charming city. One of the landmarks par excellence and one of the few completely built-up and inhabited bridges in Europe, it is a real feast for the eyes. Regensburg
Nostalgie pur!
Immerse yourself in the nostalgia of the 1950s and 60s, when the economic miracle had Germany in its grip and life seemed so much easier. A very special tradition flourished in the picturesque landscapes of southern Germany: the Milchpilz kiosks, which seemed to sprout from the ground like enchanted toadstools.
Although the glory days of the Milchpilz kiosks are over, their legacy lives on. Today, you can still visit one of these timeless places in Regensburg. The Milchpilz with the serial number 38 in Fürst-Anselm-Allee has been a fixture in the city for over 60 years. What once began as a kebab stand is now a cozy stand-up café that invites you to linger and dream.

Cuxhaven
Where the Elbe ends...
...and the North Sea begins. In order to make this geographically important point visible, a fire used to burn in the Kugelbake at night and thus served as an orientation aid for sailors.
Today, the Kugelbake has lost its actual significance, as modern radar piloting has taken over its task. Nevertheless, the Kugelbake is still a popular destination for excursions, because it marks the northernmost point of Lower Saxony and is a protected monument.
Incidentally, the emigrants who used to set out from Cuxhaven on their sea journey to America often took the sight of the Kugelbake with them on their way as a last reminder of their homeland.
Oberhausen
