While the interior with its furniture from the 70s creates a cozy and alternative atmosphere, the assortment and vision of the café go in the complete opposite direction: There are fine French specialties such as cakes, tartlets and homemade croissants - all in vegan. Apropos Veranstaltungen: Zweimal im Jahr ist das Emmas Onkel Zentrum von zwei über die Kaßberg-Hood hinaus bekannten Festen: Der 100-Weihnachtsmarkt und der 100-Meter-Sommer, der von der Buchhandlung Lessing & Companie und der Badischen Winzerstube in unmittelbarer Umgebung zu Emmas Onkel organisiert wird, sind Highlights im Veranstaltungskalender von Chemnitz.

The small bakery in Lützner Straße in Leipzig's Lindenau district produces its baked goods with a lot of handwork, love and a lot of tradition. The family business has existed since 1950 and, in addition to regional breads, rolls, Saxon cakes, typical Saxon stollen and cakes, is of course especially known for the Original Leipziger Lerchen. Here, everything is still made by hand. Each individual roll is hand-pressed and each Lerche itself is topped with the popular marzipan cross. If you like traditional and handmade baked goods, you should not miss a visit to the bakery Kleinert! 🥧

The former commercial building was built in 1908 and 1909 on behalf of Riquet & Co. and was one of the most modern and original new buildings in Leipzig at the time. The two copper-driven elephant heads flanking the entrance door to the coffee house are the trademark of the Riquet company. Since its restoration, the listed interior of the corner store can once again be admired in all its beauty, and unfortunately none of the more than thirty coffee houses that once existed in Leipzig still exist. That is why the Riquet has been trying to revive the Leipzig coffee house tradition since 1996. With the Leipziger Lerche, the Kaffee Riquet, the Elefantenkaffee and the Pharisäer, real specialties are offered here.

Ilses Erika - affectionately known as "Ilse" - in Connewitz is anything but boring and it's hard to imagine Leipzig without it for almost 20 years now. Here you get everything at once: dancing in the basement club and drinks at the bar, DJ sets and live music next door and comfortable sofas for short breathers. Once back upstairs, the Tanzcafé's beer garden is directly adjacent, which makes hot summer days and nights special and provides cooling.
