Freiburg im Breisgau
Schäufele and a Ganter, please.
Anyone strolling through Schusterstraße on a Saturday morning is almost magically "drawn" to the Deutsches Haus.
It's best not to resist, because the seats there fill up so quickly. No wonder, because the old Freiburg town house, which has been registered with the city since 1386, serves typical Freiburg beer (Ganter), Baden wines, Schäufele, sausage salad, Kässpätzle, Baden beef and Black Forest trout at rustic wooden tables. Down-to-earth cuisine. Great.

Freiburg im Breisgau
Around the world in one hall.
Feast your way around the world? Yes please!
Whether it's the Afghan national dish Quabili Palau, the Brazilian bean stew Feijoada or Baden Schäufele: in the Freiburger Markthalle, countless chefs prepare delicacies from Asia, Latin America, Europe and the Orient alongside regional specialties.
Anyone who finds the rather inconspicuous entrance to the listed sandstone building will be surprised when they enter.
Where the Freiburg newspaper was printed until 1987, hungry office workers meet today - not only for a snack, but also on Saturdays and Sundays until late in the evening for live music at one of the many bar stands, where champagne and Baden wines are served around the world.
Definitely go there!
