Westfälisches Glockenmuseum Gescher
Time travel through the history of bells
The bell museum in Gescher takes visitors on a journey through the history of bells and the development of the bell-founding trade. Visitors can learn more about the musical instrument and the craft in 20 different themed areas. Numerous stations encourage visitors to join in, so that the collection can be experienced in many different ways. With this extensive range of activities, the bell museum in Gescher is unique in northern Germany. A particular highlight is the oldest surviving "sugar loaf bell" in Westphalia from the 12th century. The museum also has its own yellow foundry, which is used for demonstration purposes, among other things.
