The vacation community of Blekendorf consists of 8 villages on Hohwacht Bay. The three-kilometer long, fine sandy Sehlendorf beach in the middle of a beautiful dune landscape, adjacent to the large nature reserve "Sehlendorfer Binnensee" invites you to swim and walk. Guided nature tours through the bird sanctuary are offered and horse riding on the beach is permitted from 1.10. to 31.3. further highlights: An extensive network of cycle paths, 750 guest beds in private accommodation and vacation apartments, farm vacations, campsites, children's playgrounds and a large program of events for young and old. Dog beachThere are also beach chairs for hire on the dog beach (between dune crossing D approx. 200 m and dog beach to dune crossing E). Please observe the following "rules" on the dog beaches:Dogs must be kept on a lead in the woods and nature reserves. From October 1 to March 31, you can walk your dog on the entire beach. During the rest of the year, please observe the "Dog beach" signs. Your dog is allowed to swim and romp on the designated dog beaches even in summer. Please do not walk your dog on the other beach areas.
