Cool treasure trove: discover the venerable town hall in Lüneburg!

Cooling off in the town hall is the perfect solution for hot summer days in Lüneburg. When the temperatures climb beyond the 30°C mark and neither ice cream nor a dip in the cool water provide relief, the time-honored town hall offers a pleasantly cool change. The thick walls of the imposing building conceal not only magnificent Gothic and Renaissance rooms, but also many interesting stories and anecdotes about the Hanseatic city. The guided tour takes you through the court arbor, the upper Gewandhaus, the Ratsstube and the old archive and is a real bargain at only 5 euros per person. Here you can admire not only the city treasury, but also the impressive ceiling paintings and stained glass windows, as well as the shoulder bone of the salt sow, which is associated with the founding of Lüneburg. Although you're unfortunately not allowed to take pictures inside the town hall, you can look forward to some beautiful images thanks to the kind support of Lüneburg Marketing GmbH. So, if you're looking to cool off and learn more about Lüneburg's history at the same time, cooling off in the town hall is just the thing for you!
