Sorcerer's apprentice / "dancing electricity pylon"
The 35-metre-high, 10-tonne electricity pylon sculpture by Berlin-based artist collective Inges Idee "dances" on a meadow near Haus Ripshorst. It was erected as part of the "Emscherkunst 2013" project, which made various publicly accessible works of art along the Emscher and the Rhine-Herne Canal possible. Its curved shape also traces a human figure and is thus reminiscent of the summoned ghost from Goethe's "Sorcerer's Apprentice", who eludes the apprentice's obedience...
