Dunkersche Kate
Time travel into the past
The Dunkersche Kate is a half-timbered building from the 17th century and was once a residence and workplace for master blacksmiths, linen weavers and farmers. Today, in addition to churches and castles, it is a popular destination in the countryside in Schleswig Holstein. Today, the well-kept cottage houses art exhibitions or craft markets that change all year round, thus offering regional artists and manufactories a sales opportunity. The cottage can be visited during the "Church & Village" tour. Directly on the Dunkersche Kate is a pretty cottage garden with well-kept paths and the typical planting of boxwood in the region. The small covered picnic area is ideal for a little rest. Baking bread like in the old days in the wood-fired oven at the Dunkersche Kate in Bosau: In the Katengarten there is a small but fine bakehouse that is available to residents, guests and groups. Around 20 exhibitions of arts and crafts take place throughout the year in the Bauernkate.
