Reichardt's garden
Inspiration in the green for poets and thinkers
The composer Johann Friedrich Reichardt laid out what is now a three-hectare park in 1794 in the style of an English landscape park based on the Wörlitz model. Important poets and scholars, including Goethe, Novalis, Brentano and Tieck, found inspiration here. That is why the estate is also known as the "Hostel of Romanticism". The characteristic of the garden lies in its network of winding paths and stairs that lead past numerous monuments. In the park there is a playground and numerous places to sit and relax. The park is freely accessible all year round.
