Halle (Saale)
Cathedral with Cathedral Square and New Residence
If you approach the cathedral through the alleys on the side of Kleine Ulrichstraße, you will first see the round gables, which stretch towards the sky like flower petals. Two or three more steps further and the cathedral is completely revealed. He rests confidently in his bright robe. Knows what it was and what it is: In the 13th century, Dominican monks began building the original monastery church. Around 1523, Cardinal Albrecht elevated it to the status of a collegiate church. Today, the cathedral is one of the oldest church buildings in Halle (Saale) and, together with the cathedral square, invites you to organ concerts and contemplative breaks. Just behind it rise the picturesque walls of the New Residence.
