Münster
The Münsterland of days gone by
The Mühlenhof is a very special place, as a piece of Münsterland culture and history has been preserved here with a great deal of passion. In the open-air museum, visitors can stroll through the past and experience life at first hand.
On the five-hectare site, visitors will find 30 large and small buildings from the 16th to 19th centuries. Many of the buildings are original structures from the period and were originally located in rural Münsterland or Emsland, while others have been reconstructed based on old models. The interiors of the houses are furnished with historical household items, giving visitors an authentic impression of the living habits and circumstances as well as the way of working in the Münsterland of the past.
The Bockwindmühle, the Rossmühle, the Backhaus, the Spieker, the Mühlenhaus and the Gräftenhof are special architectural monuments.
