Where Regensburg meets an island
Stadtamhof, Regensburg's smallest district, is picturesquely situated on an island. Once an independent municipality, it is now connected to the old town via the Stone Bridge. Although it is only a stone's throw away from the arms of the Danube, Stadtamhof almost feels like a short trip to Italy in summer. Sitting on one of the lively terraces between cobblestones and colorful house facades, you could almost think you were in a piazza in Siena.
