Джерела Падер б'ють у самому серці Падерборна, в оточенні привабливих зелених насаджень. У трьох джерельних районах - західному, центральному та східному - б'є близько 200 джерел, які об'єднані в кілька басейнів. В середньому вони викачують 5 000 літрів води за секунду. Це робить їх одними з найбільш багатоводних джерел у Німеччині. Шість джерельних потоків протікають через північну частину центру міста і зливаються в Падер перед тим, як потрапити на Альтштадтстрінг. Через трохи більше чотирьох кілометрів, у районі замку Нойгауз, Падер впадає в Ліппе, яка має меншу водність.
Раніше інтенсивно забудовані рукави джерела Падер між Мюленштрассе і Падерхалле перетворилися на динамічний, привабливий і багатий на види водний ландшафт. Русла Падера були ренатуралізовані, вулиці Інзельшпіценвег та Гакстхаузенгартен переплановані, а за млином Райнекемюле створена заплава. Різні відгалуження річки Падер були з'єднані між собою і стали більш доступними. Наприклад, невеликий пішохідний місток дозволяє відвідувачам зблизька побачити вируюче джерело. Місця для сидіння та нова концепція освітлення запрошують затриматися на новостворених стежках. Оглядовий майданчик на млині Stümpelsche Mühle дозволяє відвідувачам побачити місце злиття рукавів джерела Падер.
Центральний район Падерквелль був удостоєний Федеральної премії за міське озеленення 2020 року в категорії "Збудовані об'єкти" та першої премії в категорії "Зразкові будівлі" на конкурсі "Polis Award 2020".
