Lichtenstein
A world in miniature
The cultural landscape park opens its outdoor exhibition of the world's famous buildings every day from Easter to the beginning of November. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll along the wide paths through the green park - past more than 100 important national and international buildings from around the world. The 4.5-hectare "little world tour" in Lichtenstein takes visitors around the world in an orderly fashion - from the north of Germany to the south and on to Europe, Asia, Africa, America and antiquity, right across the time zones. A quick trip from Saxony to New York. On the way, movement comes into play at the touch of a button, lights come on, trains move, music plays. The Airbus A310 makes its rounds above the "heads of the visitors" and the garden railroads travel past the metropolises of Paris, Sydney, Brussels and New York.
How about a photo in front of the statue of Christ, the United States Capitol or the 12-metre-high Eiffel Tower? A wonderful reminder of a vacation on your doorstep with a trip around the world on foot. All the buildings are on a scale of 1:25 and some are even built from original materials. Visitors are particularly impressed by the attention to detail and the direct comparability of the monuments with each other. In the show workshop, you can learn lots of interesting facts about model making and the cool adventure castle with climbing wall and suspension bridge makes children's hearts beat faster. You can even "fly" into space in the air-conditioned 360-degree Minikosmos cinema. The 230 square meter dome interior is transformed into a curved screen and you are right in the middle of a virtual adventure - whether in the "Secret of the Trees", the "Little 1x1 of the Stars" or the "Seven Wonders" - there is something for everyone. The "Am Tor zur Welt" restaurant takes care of your physical well-being.
