Por acaso, Max Beeckens, que tinha 15 anos na época, ficou com um machado de pedra preso em seu ancinho de feno. Com essa descoberta, Max Beeckens começou a coletar achados arqueológicos. Ele passou sua paixão por colecionar artefatos para sua filha Ute. O genro posterior de Max Beeckens, Max Sievers, estava envolvido na conclusão da coleção desde 1968. Max Sievers completou o trabalho da vida de seu sogro construindo o museu "Max sien Steenstuv". Este está localizado em um estábulo convertido que serve como local de exposição. O museu compreende cerca de 9000 exposições que foram coletadas ao longo de décadas. A coleção consiste em uma grande variedade de ferramentas da Idade da Pedra, como raspadores, machados, machadinhas ou pontas de flechas, que são apresentadas com habilidade e às vezes até práticas. Os achados vêm dos arredores próximos e distantes de Brammerau. Os dois achados mais antigos, são duas pontas de lança, têm cerca de 12000 anos. Ute e Max Sievers tornaram as descobertas da pré-história e da história antiga acessíveis ao público por meio do museu. Devido à sua localização direta no Ochsenweg, oferece aos ciclistas a oportunidade de passeios espontâneos se Ute e Max Sievers estiverem em casa, é solicitada inscrição antecipada por telefone. As turmas escolares e grupos maiores devem se inscrever com antecedência.
