Viaggio nell'elettrificazione
Nell'ex edificio amministrativo dello Schleswig-Holstein Netz AG (SH Netz) si trovano numerose rarità, tra cui il rasoio elettrico che l'"attore cantante" Hans Albers donò al museo dopo la sua visita nel 1948. Si può ammirare anche un uovo rammendo illuminato dall'interno, che il cancelliere Konrad Adenauer aveva inventato, ma – come si è spesso detto – non brevettato. La gamma di oggetti esposti è ampia: oltre alla radio a valvole più piccola del mondo all'epoca, la "Knirps" di Wobbe, o una spina di alimentazione in legno autointagliata, nel museo si può scoprire anche un melone. La mostra, ideata dall'Università di Kiel, è dedicata sia ai cambiamenti tecnici che agli effetti sociali dell'Art Nouveau. Nel soggiorno, nella musica e nelle stanze dei bambini, arredate con cura con oggetti dell'epoca, così come nella lavanderia e nella stanza degli uomini, si può vivere l'Art Nouveau in tutte le sue sfaccettature. Non solo la mostra permanente merita una visita, ma anche l'edificio stesso, costruito nel 1920, è impressionante. L'imponente edificio in mattoni è stato progettato dall'architetto e capomastro Fritz Höger († 1949). Lo Schleswig-Holsteiner è considerato uno dei principali rappresentanti dell'espressionismo del laterizio della Germania settentrionale.
