Dans l’ancien bâtiment administratif du Schleswig-Holstein Netz AG (SH Netz), il y a de nombreuses raretés, dont le rasoir électrique que l'"acteur chantant » Hans Albers a offert au musée après sa visite en 1948. Vous pouvez également admirer un œuf à repriser illuminé de l’intérieur, que le chancelier Konrad Adenauer avait inventé, mais – comme on l’a souvent dit – n’a pas breveté. L’éventail des expositions est large : en plus de la plus petite radio à tube du monde à l’époque, le « Knirps » de Wobbe, ou une prise d’alimentation en bois auto-sculptée, vous pouvez également découvrir un melon dans le musée. L’exposition, conçue par l’Université de Kiel, est consacrée à la fois aux changements techniques et aux effets sociaux de l’Art nouveau. Dans le salon, la musique et les chambres d’enfants, meublées avec amour avec des objets de l’époque, ainsi que dans la buanderie et dans les toilettes des hommes, vous pourrez découvrir l’Art nouveau sous toutes ses facettes. Non seulement l’exposition permanente vaut le détour, mais le bâtiment lui-même, qui a été construit en 1920, est également impressionnant. L’imposant bâtiment en brique a été conçu par l’architecte et maître d’œuvre Fritz Höger († 1949). Le Schleswig-Holsteiner est considéré comme l’un des principaux représentants de l’expressionnisme en brique d’Allemagne du Nord.
