Schiffweiler
Une journée à l’Itzenplitzer Weiher
La mine d’Itzenplitz, située dans le district Schiffweiler de Heiligenwald, a été en activité de 1856 à 1935. L’ensemble minier d’Itzenplitz se compose d’un système de levage de puits, d’une salle de machines de levage, d’un poste d’aiguillage et du plus ancien échafaudage à poulie de câble conservé dans l’exploitation minière de la Sarre. L’Itzenplitzer Weiher voisin a toujours conservé l’idylle apparente de l’ancienne exploitation minière et sert aujourd’hui de zone de loisirs locale pour les randonneurs, les marcheurs nordiques, les cyclistes, les cavaliers et les pêcheurs. Le plan d’eau est intégré dans un vaste réseau de sentiers de randonnée et dans un parc de marche nordique et constitue l’un des exemples les plus réussis d’une transformation complète et réussie d’une zone autrefois utilisée pour l’exploitation minière en une zone de loisirs locale attrayante. Un accroche-regard vaut la peine d’être vu est le Pumpenhaus, idéalement situé au bord de l’étang, qui est non seulement considéré comme une rareté technique et unique en Allemagne, mais qui prouve également de manière impressionnante que les bâtiments industriels peuvent être esthétiques.
