After extensive renovation, the Philharmonie Essen (in the building of the historic Saalbau) has become one of the most beautiful and acoustically best concert halls in Germany. Ceremoniously reopened in June 2004, the house has since gained great international recognition thanks to a top-class program with fascinating artists, excellent acoustics and state-of-the-art technology.
