Journey through time

A fascinating insight into the 2500-year cultural history of the Schaumberg region is offered by the Theulegium Museum in Tholey. Not only nationally remarkable exhibits from the Celtic era underline the importance of the region in antiquity, but also numerous finds from the village and the nearby archaeological excavation Wareswald bring the Roman world to life here. The history and monastic life of the Benedictine abbey of Tholey and the nearby Schaumburg are illustrated in other exhibition focal points. Housed in the building of the former district court, the original cell of the cantonal prison can also be visited in the basement of the Theulegium Museum.
