The "round corner" full of contemporary history

In original preserved rooms of the former District Administration for State Security Leipzig, the memorial informs about the Stasi as guarantor of the SED dictatorship and about its overcoming by the Peaceful Revolution. The exhibition "Stasi - Power and Banality" shows numerous exhibits, some of them unique, on the history, structure and working methods of the GDR secret service, including a prison cell. The exhibition "Leipzig on the Way to the Peaceful Revolution" tells of the events in the fall of '89 that brought down the communist dictatorship in the GDR. Since 2012, the memorial has been part of the European Cultural Heritage "Iron Curtain".
