Industry, nature and history combined
Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord, also affectionately known as "Landi", is an impressive open-air museum on a site of almost 180 hectares. Here, nature and industrial culture have been uniquely combined to create a park landscape that is unique in the world.
The park is the lighthouse project of the Emscher Park International Building Exhibition and a symbol of the development of the post-industrial cultural landscape of the Ruhr region. It is no wonder that the park attracts over a million visitors every year. The park center is home to the disused Thyssen blast furnace plant in Duisburg-Meiderich.
Children and young people will find a gigantic adventure playground here, while adults can take part in guided tours on industrial history or climb to the top platform of a blast furnace. Photography or filming is also possible in the landscape park, but drones are not allowed for safety and liability reasons.
