Städtisches Lapidarium
Secret history amidst ruins
A journey through the history of Stuttgart allows you to meet stone witnesses of past eras. Between magnificent trees and foyers, sculptures, statues and historical components are revealed, which were salvaged from the rubble of the destroyed Stuttgart of 1945. Among them are fragments of ornate gates and the portal of one of the oldest houses in the city, dating back to 1286. In addition, this place is home to the Roman collection of antiquities of Carl von Ostertag-Siegel, which creates a rare connection between medieval architecture and ancient history.
