St.Ägidien-Kirche

Over the rooftops of Erfurt

Today, the Ägidienkirche is the only one of the two churches that once lined the Krämerbrücke. This impressive Gothic-style church with its stone archway on Wenigemarkt marks the eastern entrance to the Krämerbrücke. The real treasure of the Ägidienkirche is undoubtedly the spectacular view that you can enjoy from the 33-metre-high Red Tower. To experience this breathtaking perspective, you have to climb the 128 steps as part of a tower ascent. From up here, you can admire the Krämerbrücke bridge between the historic houses and enjoy an incomparable view of the impressive ensemble of Erfurt Cathedral and the Severi Church on the Domberg in the distance. This experience is an absolute must when exploring the old town of Erfurt. Tower tours are possible from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm.
