The beauty of plants

The Botanical Garden of the University of Leipzig is the ideal place to discover the fascinating diversity of the plant world. On an area of about three hectares you will find plants from the most diverse vegetation zones of the earth, distributed among the apothecary garden, the greenhouses, the scent and touch garden as well as the open space of the facility. A special highlight is the butterfly house, where you can experience butterflies in a natural environment and up close. With a history of over 400 years, the Botanical Garden in Leipzig is the oldest of its kind in Germany.
