Stage magic in opera house worth seeing

The Leipzig Opera - consisting of the Opera, Musical Comedy and Leipzig Ballet - is the third oldest civic musical theater stage in Europe. Its outstanding international reputation is shaped by the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, important soloists, an award-winning choir and the Leipzig Ballet. The opera was born as early as 1693, making it the second oldest German musical stage after Hamburg. The Leipziger Notenspur takes you right past the opera house, and the Leipziger Jazztage are also held here every year. The musicals and operettas included in the program are performed in the historic Haus Dreilinden (Musical Comedy).
