Historical mining
The lignite mine and the visitor mine at Bauersberg offer a fascinating insight into the mining history of the Rhön. The gallery, once a relic of lignite mining, has been converted into an impressive show gallery. With a length of about 60 meters, it shows how lignite was mined in times past. The illuminated gallery can be explored by visitors by switching on the light at the entrance. An exciting experience for anyone interested in mining history.
