Most visitors remember Brühl from GDR times as a popular shopping boulevard. Or from the years that followed, when it led a rather dreary existence due to a lot of vacancy and disregard. Today, a great deal of civic commitment, passion and creativity have turned it back into a quarter to live in and enjoy, an urban pedestrian promenade with small stores, cafés and stores where you can once again go shopping in a very good, but also very special way. Small platforms, fountains and Wilhelminian-style façades invite you to stroll along and take a break on one of the many benches to enjoy the ensemble. And then there is this manifestation of a feeling that stands in the middle of the way: Home. Some find that it doesn't work at all. Others love it very much.
