Sternwarte Peterberg
A journey through the stars
Since 1997, there has been an observatory on the Peterberg in Saarland. This was built by the Association of Amateur Astronomers of the Saarland e. V. The members of the association run the Peterberg Observatory in their free time. They bring you closer to the fascination for space and also use the observatory's equipment to carry out their own astronomical observations. The Peterberg Observatory has had two full-fledged observation domes since 2004. The north dome and the Peterberg half-meter telescope. The north dome has a diameter of 5.5 meters. It serves as a demonstration dome and has housed the Peterberg Half-Meter Telescope (PHT) since April 17, 2010. Observe the craters of the moon, the rings of Saturn, and countless nebulae and galaxies with billions of suns. A journey into the surrounding 2 to 5 million light years of the universe! Open only for specialist lectures, special events and group or special dates
