Modern cultural oasis meets historical flair

While preserving the listed building fabric, a modern cultural centre has been created in Saarlouis, which now also combines the adult education centre, the municipal cultural office and the city library under one roof. The Luxembourg star architect François Valentiny is responsible for the spectacular redesign of the Theater am Ring. Bold, sculptural-looking façade areas effectively merge exterior and interior and play with light and shadow. Modern functional rooms guarantee cultural enjoyment at its finest. From the late 1950s, the wire sculpture on the tower of the building complex has been preserved to this day: a muse is warmed by the sun, which is a symbol of the history of Saarlouis.
