The Friday excursion to Weimar and Erfurt shows that Thuringia is particularly good at spring. The municipal park at the Weimarhalle belongs to the ensemble Asbachgrünzug. It was first mentioned in the 15th century as a ducal tree garden. In the 18th century, it was leased to Friedrich Justin Bertuch, a merchant of the Goethe period. At the beginning of the 20th century, it became municipal property. Today, the park is not only accessible from the congress centrum weimarhalle via the terraces into the city, but is also a popular recreation area. In summer, open-air concerts and festivals enliven the green oasis.
