Zschopau
Historic mill romance on the river
After the first stage of the Zschopau Valley Cycle Route winds its way from the source of the Zschopau to the town of the same name, it continues downstream. The second stage is the easier of the two. Highlights of the route are the 9-kilometre-long Kriebstein dam, which is located in the wild and romantic "Middle Zschopau Valley" nature reserve, and Kriebstein Castle, Saxony's most beautiful knight's castle, which is enthroned on a steep rock above the Zschopau.
