Secrets and prospects of the Devil's Castle
Neufelsberg Castle - popularly known as Teufelsburg - was probably built between 1354 and 1390. It was first mentioned in writing in 1370 between the builder Duke Jean I (1346-1390) of Lorraine and the knight Arnold von Felsberg. From 1964 onwards, parts of the castle were rebuilt. In the small castle museum, finds from the excavations can be seen. On the way to the Devil's Castle, you can cross part of the largest contiguous acacia forest in the Saar-Lor-Lux region, which is now largely left to its own devices. And from the Burgspitze there is a wonderfully wide view of the middle Saar valley to the Schaumberg.
