Baroque splendour in an idyllic landscape
Between 1746 and 1772, a baroque masterpiece was created, which today sits enthroned as a magnificent moated castle in the middle of a park with moats, a lake, ponds and avenues. Once beginning as a late medieval moated castle, this place was transformed by the master builder Matthieu Soiron into an axially symmetrical castle complex based on French models. With its stables and riding arenas, it is also a centre for horse breeding and equestrian sports, surrounded by a park that reflects the power and splendour of a bygone era. Here, history is combined with the beauty of nature and the passion for horses.
