Ulm
Crooked, humpy, attractive.
It was built on one of the oldest settlement areas within the current city limits. There are numerous historical buildings along the paths and the two blue arms: the remains of the Staufer wall, the Leaning House (incidentally the most leaning hotel in the world according to the Guinness Book!), the half-timbered houses, the city wall or the Wilhelmshöhe, which offers a beautiful view over the district. Since the restoration of the quarter in the 1980s, restaurants, galleries and small specialist stores have established themselves in the buildings. The Weinhof is located in the immediate vicinity. The historic Schwörhaus is located here, from the balcony of which the Lord Mayor gives his annual Schwör speech on Schwörmontag, Ulm's big city holiday at the end of July. The new synagogue has been standing right next door since 2012.
