Kasteel Etelsen met kasteelpark
Het kasteel van Etelsen, gebouwd in 1886 in neorenaissancestijl*, beleefde een bewogen geschiedenis. De Schlossparkverein Etelsen e.V. heeft zich tot taak gesteld het kasteel, dat tot ver buiten de wijk Verden belangrijk is, en het ca. 10 hectare grote kasteelpark met zijn flora en fauna, dat op de monumentenlijst staat, te behouden.
Het paleispark, gelegen in Etelsen op de Weserhelling, werd rond 1900 gemoderniseerd door de hertogelijke promenade-inspecteur Friedrich Kreiß uit Brunswijk in opdracht van de Deense graaf Christian zu Reventlow. De architect van het neogotische mausoleum was de bekende bouwmeester Conrad Wilhelm Hase. Op meer dan 4 km wandelpaden kunnen bezoekers tijdens lange wandelingen genieten van de diversiteit van de natuur. Aan alle zijden van het kasteel bepalen architectonische elementen en structuren het tuinaanzicht van het uitgestrekte parkgebied. Een ovaal voor het kasteelgebouw, versierd met rozenperken en een fontein, verwelkomt nog steeds bezoekers. Achter het kasteel begint de uitgestrekte parkweide, die toegankelijk is via kronkelende paden. Grotere en kleinere groepen bomen onderbreken het gebied en vormen een verbinding met het bosachtige parkgebied, waar zich een mausoleum bevindt. Trouw tijdens een burgerlijke ceremonie in het kasteel en geniet samen met uw gasten van het prachtige park. Het is een uniek decor voor uw trouwfoto's (Standeamt Langwedel, Tel. 04232-3911).*Neorenaissance of Neorenaissance is een stijl van historicisme in de 19e eeuw, waarin renaissance-architectuur wordt gebruikt. Afhankelijk van het individuele geval komen de vormen voornamelijk uit het repertoire van de Italiaanse Renaissance of voornamelijk uit de Duitse Renaissance of Noordse Renaissance van de 16e eeuw.
