Cologne
Germany's oldest town hall
The historic town hall, the oldest in Germany dating back to the 14th century, impresses with its imposing architecture and rich history. The 61-metre-high town hall tower, which is decorated with over 100 figures, can be seen from afar. The Renaissance arbor on the west façade, which has outlasted the tower and is unique, is particularly impressive. Inside, you can learn more about the almost 900-year history of the town hall on a guided tour. The carillon fills the town hall square with Cologne melodies and the famous Platzjabbeck greets you with a wink on the hour.
