Hisnande utsikt över Mötjenpolder
Lundener Niederung är ett naturreservat på cirka 900 hektar. Det låglänta området omfattar Krempeler Moor, den angränsande Mötjenpolder och Mötjensee och den tidigare Steller See samt områdena däremellan. De två sjöarna är före detta strandsjöar, som sedan dess har slammat igen eller håller på att slamma igen, som hade bildats mellan en tidigare udde i väster och Geeståsen i öster. Naturreservatet har stor betydelse för ängs- och flyttfåglar. Här hör bland annat duvhök, grågås, rödspov, tofsvipa, rörsångare och sånglärka hemmahörande här. Bland de rastande fåglarna finns storspov, sångsvan och vitkindad gås. Den vita storken besöker området som matgäst. Hela komplexet är livsmiljö för hedgrodan och andra amfibier. Naturreservatet erbjuder också en lämplig livsmiljö för uttern. Naturreservatet kan upplevas på cykel-, vandrings- och ridstigar.
