Weserrenessansens perle
Schloss Erbhof er også hjemsted for turistinformasjonen i felleskommunen Thedinghausen.
Den arvelige gården, som ofte omtales som et slott i dag, ble bygget mellom 1619 og 1624 av erkebiskop Johann Friedrich - da hersker av erkebispedømmet Bremen og dermed også av Thedinghausen-Amt - for hans elskerinne, den unge enken etter erkebiskop Drosten av Hermeling, Gertrud von Hermeling-Heimbruch. Den praktfulle bygningen i stil med den avtagende Weser-renessansen er en bygning laget av røde murstein med hvite mørtelfuger. De dekorative formene er dekorert med gul sandstein. Vinduer, buer, tårngavler og prydsøyler er velproporsjonerte og kunstnerisk utformet.
Den arvelige gården hadde mange eiere etter Gertrud von Hermeling-Heimbruch, som døde bare to år etter innvielsen av praktbygningen. Siden 1999 har felleskommunen Thedinghausen vært eier av denne arkitektoniske og kulturhistoriske juvelen. De siste årene har arvegården blitt omfattende renovert. Renessansehallen med sitt malte tretak, fargerike flislagte gulv, sandsteinspeis og håndskårne vindusrammer ble restaurert til sin opprinnelige tilstand.
Den arkitektoniske stilen i renessansen fra det 16. til det 17. århundre er spesielt uttalt i Weser-regionen. Den arvelige gården regnes som utstillingsvinduet i denne bygningskulturen.
Forfatteren Christian Kamman har forsket på historien til denne nedersaksiske herregården og fyrstelige Bremen kvinneborg fra 1600-tallet til i dag og nedtegnet den i en bok (utgitt i 2023).
Ulike kunst- og kulturarrangementer finner sted på Erbhof-området.
I slottets lokaler er det også en permanent utstilling om arvegården med informasjon om bygningens historie og restaurering, samt originale utstillinger fra byggetidspunktet.
I hagen til arvegården er det et barlindtre som er over 400 år gammelt. Dette barlindtreet har blitt erklært et National Heritage Tree. Det er sannsynligvis det tykkeste offentlig tilgjengelige barlindtreet i Tyskland. Kronen er ca 21 m bred. Stammeomkrets over 4,80 m, høyde ca. 14 m.
Veiledning:
På hver 2. søndag i måneden fra 14:00 til 15:30 er det offentlige guidede turer. For grupper er guidede turer også mulig på ønskede datoer.
Gifte seg:
Det er mulig å gifte seg i en sivil seremoni og holde arrangementer i det 400 år gamle slottet. Ensemblet Schloss Erbhof kan bookes til konserter, opplesninger, utstillinger m.m. Hallen med sine eksklusive møbler er et veldig spesielt sted for din sivile eller gratis bryllupsseremoni og tilbyr plass til 100 personer i festlige omgivelser (informasjon: Thedinghausen registerkontor, Tlf. 04204-88810).
Tre Park:
En trepark er opprettet på et område på nesten 11 hektar, hvor rundt 450 løvtrær og varianter er plantet i mer enn 70 slekter som er hjemmehørende i Tyskland og Nord-Europa, inkludert ginkgotrær og ur-sequoia. I følge de fire årstidene endrer treparken utseendet igjen og igjen, noen ganger spirer blomster, noen ganger vokser ømt grønt, noen ganger skifter bladene farge til lyse farger. Den nydesignede treparken med stier og insekthotell har også en naturlig lekeplass med boulebane og muligheter for piknik. Treparken er ment å tjene innbyggerne og gjestene i Thedinghausen for lokal rekreasjon og å være tilgjengelig for skoler og andre institusjoner for undervisningsformål.
