Rejse gennem elektrificering
I den tidligere administrationsbygning for Schleswig-Holstein Netz AG (SH Netz) er der talrige sjældenheder, herunder den elektriske barbermaskine, som "syngende skuespiller" Hans Albers donerede til museet efter sit besøg i 1948. Man kan også beundre et stoppeæg, der er oplyst indefra, og som kansler Konrad Adenauer havde opfundet, men som det ofte er blevet sagt – ikke patenterede. Udvalget af udstillinger er stort: Ud over den mindste rørradio i verden på det tidspunkt, "Knirps" af Wobbe, eller et selvskåret strømstik lavet af træ, kan du også opdage en melon på museet. Udstillingen, som blev udtænkt af Kiel Universitet, er dedikeret til både de tekniske ændringer og de sociale effekter af Art Nouveau. I stuen, musik- og børneværelserne, kærligt indrettet med udstillinger fra tiden, samt i vaskerummet og på herreværelset, kan du opleve Art Nouveau i alle dens facetter. Ikke alene er den permanente udstilling et besøg værd, men selve bygningen, der blev bygget i 1920, er også imponerende. Den imponerende murstensbygning er tegnet af arkitekten og bygmesteren Fritz Höger († 1949). Slesvig-holsteneren betragtes som en af de førende repræsentanter for nordtysk murstensekspressionisme.
